Dear Students. Love Julia
This is a six-minute cinematic tribute to my students. It is a product of synchronicity and an unplanned visit from my filmmaker/photographer friend, Pete Longworth, who happened to be in Nicaragua while I was conducting a teacher training off the remote beaches of Los Cardones. He showed up in the middle of the night after a storm had washed out the roads, balancing his camera equipment precariously over his head… with a shit-eating-grin. We spent the evening brainstorming, laughing and storyboarding over rum, candlelight and the sound of crickets. This is what we came up with. It truly embodies my heartfelt message to all those whom I have taught over the years. Thank you Pete, for creating such a timeless work of art.
